Rivers Ablaze is a progressive black/death metal supergroup based in Budapest, Hungary, formed in 2019. The band brings together prominent figures from the international metal scene, including Týr’s drummer (Tadeusz Rieckmann), Special Providence’s guitarist (Márton Kertész), and Insane’s vocalist (Oszkár Knapp), Niburta guitarist (Márton Ferenczi) and Divided bass guitarist (Pál Purnhauser).

Their music blends the ferocity of death and black metal with progressive structures, atmospheric textures, and cosmic horror-inspired themes. Rivers Ablaze stands out with its technical precision, haunting melodies, and a distinct sound rooted in existential dread and otherworldly mysticism.
