Rivers Ablaze is an experimental extreme metal project by Budapest-based guitarist Márton Kertész (From The Sky, ex-Special Providence).

Rivers Ablaze started out as a solo project by Márton Kertész (ex-Special Providence, From The Sky) in 2019 when the vast majority of the songs off Blood Canvas were written. The compositions were recorded in April 2020 and subsequently András Nagy (Sear Bliss, Arkhé) added vocals to the album. Other musicians who helped create the record were Oszkár Knapp (Wrong Side, Grizzly) with additional vocals on track "Into Deepest Depth", Marek 'Ashok' Smerda (Cradle Of Filth) with two guitar solos on track "The Infinite Corridor", Zoltán Cséry (Patché, Random Trip) with additional keyboards and Béla Budai, who wrote the drum parts. Mixing and mastering were done by Péter Csobánczi at TrashHill Studios and the artwork belongs to András Sütő based on a painting by Hungarian painter László Saly Németh. The album was first self-released digitally in October 2020, then released in physical format as well courtesy of label metal.hu in early 2021.

Sophomore album Devoid Dying Sun saw the light of day in August 2021 and contains 6 instrumental compositions that can be described as progressive blackened death metal or experimental extreme metal. The album features drummer Olivér Ziskó (solo artist) and once again Zoltán Cséry on keyboards.
